Use as a standard set screw gas block, with the option to pin if needed.
The strongest way to attach a gas block to a barrel is to pin it in place. Trying to pin a standard low profile gas block is not easy. You must either have it done professionally, or purchase a costly jig to hold it in place while drilling. Often times, the jig is not made exactly for your gas block and may require modification. This gas block is set up so the end user can easily pin their gas block to their barrel if they desire. No jig is required since the pilot hole is already started for you. This means there is already a flat spot to easily start your drill for semi-permanent gas block to barrel attachment. Just secure the gas block using the included set screws and use a simple drill press vice to hold it in place. Then use a 1/8″ drill bit to drill through the gas block/barrel, then install the included spring pin/roll pin and your done. Very easy to do, and saves you time and money from having your gunsmith do it. Can still be used as a standard set screw gas block, but the option to pin is there if needed.
